  Alright let's move on to the topic of the day! I got an offer letter for an interview of Asasi Tesl by UiTM (this is because I put the course as my first choice in UPU) on April 2017 (Yes,  I forgot the date). The interview was held in UiTM Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Kami bertolak awal jam 7 lebih untuk mengelakkan traffic road berlaku (rush hours usually happens in the morning). It was a good thing that the ride from our place to UiTM KK was brief.  As soon as we arrive at the gate of UiTM KK, the guards asked us about the interview and even show us the rope to the said hall where the interview will be held. Everyone is in their best formal attire as I scoot over my seat to observe a sea of people from my car's window swarming around the whiteboard to check their name and panel.  Searching for an empty parking space wasn't that hard as the candidate's parents prefer to drop them off, give a little morale support and drive their way to work. As for me, I drag my willingly parents with me so I won't be alone 😂😂😂 (I love you Mom and Dad 💜💜💜🌹👴👩

Writing Test :


  Sarapan dengan air milo pun boleh hahaha dengan perut yang berkeroncong, I made my way upstair and search keenly for the hall. I walk back and forward to read each hall's name only to be disappointed that the writing test were to be held downstairs. Oh,  don't forget your certs and arrange them accordingly. Just make sure it is all complete because it is like a pass for you to go in and seat for the writing test. Wait, writing test? Yes. In order for you to get accepted in Asasi Tesl UiTM, you must first go through the hardest obstacle ( in ny opinion)  which is the writing test. It is not your regular SPM essay test, this test requires you to squeeze as many of your big words from your brain to ace this. Honestly, I don't think I did good on this writing test😂😂😂😂 Mungkin sebab saya lapar? Okay,  writing test consist of two parts. Section A which is the objective questions and section B which is summary. Eventhough all you have to do is circle and write down the correct answer, if you have a short attention span, then objectives will be the death of you. You have to rethink your choice because all of it seems right and sometimes all of it seems wrong. You are given only an hour to finish your writing test. On section B, you are given an issue that needs your opinions and perspectives also your skill in summarisation. Above all, don't put yourself under pressure just because the time given is too short. Practice to summarize quickly and effectively before going to the interview. Oh and you sit according to your respective panel. If you are in panel 2, sit in row 2 of the table.


The time has come. 


   Be aware of your panel by checking it in the whiteboard outside the hall. I was in Panel 4 so I guess I can buy some time before being interrogated by the interviewer (hahahahah). Sarapan dengan milo lagi (yesss)  and then naik atas tangga dan masuk dalam kelas yang ada air-cond (nyamann) bersama-sama calon yang lain. Bila disuruh tunggu oleh kakak-kakak yang mengurus keberadaan calon-calon sebelum ditemuduga, I can sense the nervousness creeping all over my body. Rasa seram sejuk menunggu nama dipanggil masuk dalam bilik temuduga tersebut. I want to make friends tapi semua khusyuk menyediakan jawapan-jawapan mantap jadi alamatnya saya pun berkawanlah dengan rakan sebelah saya. Nama dia Syamim, peramah orangnya. The only thing that has been creating awkwardness between us is the language barrier. She is from Perlis so her accent is a bit thick. Still, we can communicate through my broken semenanjung accent ( I'm sorry for the cringe). When we talk about Asasi Tesl, she knows a lot about it while I just sit there and listen to her attentively. Apparently,  UiTM Dengkil merupakan pusat asasi baharu which means if I were to be accepted in Asasi Tesl Programme, I have to leave Sabah and fly all the way to Selangor..New life? Baru nak kenal dengan lebih rapat, nama saya sudah pun dipanggil untuk masuk. Gemuruh sungguh ginawoku(my heart)  when the thought of being interviewed hits me. First time sebenarnya, tapi saya gagahkan juga langkah memasuki bilik temuduga tersebut.

 
        Ketuk, buka pintu, beri salam, ucap good evening dan terus masuk menghulurkan sijil dan dokumen berkaitan. Pernah dengar nasihat bahawa jangan duduk selagi tidak diarahkan, jadi saya pun berdiri menunggu penemuduga tersebut. Kerusi yang saya dikehendaki duduk amatlah jauh daripada meja penemuduga. They want to test your voice projection agaknya. Apabila mereka selesai membelek sijil dan dokumen peribadi, akhirnya saya dibenarkan untuk duduk. At this moment banyak soalan ramalan yang bertubi-tubi menghurungi fikiran saya. Ketika ini, terbit secebis penyesalan kerana tidak ada persiapan yang lengkap (jangan contohi ya).

Me: Thank you, my name is xx (cerita pasal hobby, sekolah lama, achievements, 21st century)

Miss : Good. I see that you have participated in English Drama Comeptition. Could you elaborate more on this achievement?

Me : Thank you. (Relates to my social anxiety, helps me improve grammar et cetera)

Miss : Alright. That is all thank you for your time.

Me : (That is all?!  No current educational issues? No soalan killer about why I choose Tesl?) At this point, I could not even believe my ear when she said that. I guess I just get up, smile and call the next person. 


    As soon as we finished being "interrogated" , kami digalakkan untuk terus pulang untuk mengelak gangguan dalam jadual pembelajaran pelajar UiTM.

    Well, everyone has their own interview's experience. I must admit, it is a bit unfair for everyone that I didn't have to answer the must-asked question by the interviewer. It was a brief interview but I gather a lot of experience I must say.
